Jessica says that there will be no more vampire-slaying in the future for her. Other adaptations of comic books, maybe; 'Blade', definitely not! Basically, the actress hung up her leather suit for a more feminine outfit and playing dress up, together with Edward Norton, in 'The Illusionist'.
The idea of a sequel to the 2004 vampire movie is out of the question from the very start. Jessica Biel, Wesley Snipes and Ryan Reynolds joined forces against vampires and FBI agents but, despite all the massive promotion and the millions of dollars invested in 'Blade: Trinity', the movie failed miserably at the box-office.
More recently, the plans for the sequel came to a dead end but the idea for the project was not dropped entirely. Nevertheless, even if the spin-off makes it to the big screen, Biel is set not to appear in it. 'I think that's over with. Nothing ever came really with the [sequel] 'Night Stalkers'. I actually thought that, maybe we would do an adaptation of that, but I just don't think that 'Blade: Trinity' did so well. It just didn't do so well as everyone would have hoped, so no one was interested in rethinking those characters.', the actress said about the legendary vampire movie.
But that doesn't mean that all her career will focus from now on on period dramas: 'I'm open to other comic book adaptations or big action. I mean, I like action movies, I like doing action movies, I think they're fun'.
