Rumors about a potential split between the daughter of Goldie Hawn and her husband Chris Robinson, the frontman for Black Crowes, first appeared in 'People' Magazine. But they were immediately infirmed by Kate herself who, in an interview with 'Elle', said that no marriage is perfect and that hers is no exception to the rule.

Hudson is currently promoting her latest romantic comedy, 'You, Me and Dupree' and, when asked about her life as wife and mother to the 2 ½-year-old son, she said: 'I don't like this idea of the perfect marriage. It doesn't exist. People can be in love madly and deeply and go through so much and still end up with each other and that's what you hope for. But no one should get married if they think it's going to be a fairy tale'.

It seems that the fairy tale is quite over for the beautiful actress and her husband, as her publicist officially announced that, quote, 'Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson have confirmed that they are separated'. The two were married for almost six years, during a ceremony held on New Year's Eve of 2000, and together they have a son, Ryder Russell.

Kate and Chris were considered one of Hollywood's long-lasting couples and their relationship was never affected by scandals in the press. The actress once said that the key to her husband's heart, besides that of occasionally turning a blind eye on some of his extramarital affairs, consisted in performing special pole and lap dances for him. As a matter of fact, just a week ago, Kate was admitted to the emergency room, with an injury that she supposedly got when doing a special routine for Chris.

No other information was offered about the couple's split and Robinson's representative refused to answer back calls from the media.
