Have Windows automatically cleaned every now and then

Even if Microsoft delivers the basic of everything in the Windows set of features, you can’t completely rely on them for everything you perform on a PC. Sooner or later you end up with a lot of applications installed.

There comes a time when you remove applications you don’t need, but a simple uninstall process is not enough. Different registry entries and other files are left over when uninstalling.

Sure enough, one removed program doesn’t leave a lot of junk behind, but after a long usage time your computer can become clogged. Performance is affected and you risk overflowing it to the point where a Windows reinstall is inevitable.

In order to avoid this, you can take advantage of the variety of cleaning programs available for download, or even starting off with Windows built-in features.

Cleaning through Windows features

Step 1: Hit Win + S to launch Disk Clean-up.

Step 2: Browse through available locations, with the possibility to view files that are going to be deleted.

Step 3: Select the components you want to remove. Large content is found in Temporary files, Downloaded Program Files, Temporary Internet Files, and probably Recycle Bin.

Step 4: Press Clean up system files and wait for the process to finish. Administrator privileges are required.

Note: It might not seem like a lot, but doing this regularly makes sure there’s always enough room for your system to breathe.

Creating an automated cleaning schedule

Step 1: Download, install, and run Wise Care 365.

Step 2: Press Checkup to scan your PC for junk files.

Step 3: Once the process is done, you want to make sure it’s triggered automatically.

Step 4: Press the OFF button in the bottom left corner of the main window.

Step 5: Select when the process should start. It’s best to choose On Idle so you don’t have to wait nor be affected by it.

Step 6: Press OK to confirm, and press X to hide it to system tray.

Note: If your PC is running really slow, there are a lot more cleaners packed in the upper toolbar. Don’t be afraid to launch them every now and then. The only thing you risk losing is most likely your Internet browsing history.
