A couple of days ago, Jessica Simpson and fiancé Eric Johnson welcomed their second child into the world, a baby boy they named Ace Knute. If they were thinking of selling the first exclusive photos of the baby, the two stars are fresh out of luck because no one is buying.

Celebrities often resort to selling the rights to the first photos of their newborns, which are then run in a celebrity publication, either to avoid the paparazzi frenzy or for the money.

Whichever might have been Jessica’s reason for wanting to have Ace Knute make his debut to the public in the pages of a glossy, it won’t happen, insiders say, as cited by Amy Grindhouse.

Admittedly, all the tabloids are now paying attention to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s daughter North West, who is yet to be photographed in public and for whose pictures a bidding war is now taking place.

Consequently, this means that many even forgot that Jessica was pregnant, let alone jump at her with offers for the photos.

“There is nowhere near the interest in Ace as in North. When Jessica sold the first pictures of her daughter to People magazine, the issue did not sell very well. We have all seen the newsstands’ numbers and feel the same will be true for her son,” says one industry insider.

According to the same report, interest in photos of Jessica’s daughter was also low because she waited until the last moment to make a decision, hoping it would earn her money. She overplayed her hand.

“It is all about Kim Kardashian,” another industry insider chimes in.

“Jessica hasn’t sold weekly magazines in a long time. That is not to say that a weekly wouldn’t love to have the first images of Jessica and her baby boy, just they are not prepared to offer a lot of money to get them,” the tipster shares.
