14 DAY TRIAL // Amy Adams has a new movie to promote, “Big Eyes,” which is amazing news for her fans because it translates into the possibility of her talking about one of her upcoming projects, the insanely anticipated “Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” from director Zack Snyder.
As we all know from “Man of Steel,” the rebooted Superman film, Amy plays Lois Lane, the love interest of Henry Cavill’s Superman, a role she is reprising in the 2016 release.
She won’t talk about the rumors making the rounds online about the direction the film will take and how exactly Superman will end up doing battle with Batman, but she will say this much: if you were expecting some kind of love triangle between Lois, Superman, and newcomer Wonder Woman (played by Gal Gadot), you were wrong.
Put two women together and you immediately think of a catfight, Amy tells Coming Soon during a press junket for “Big Eyes.” That won’t be the case in “Dawn of Justice” because there is no competition between Lois and Wonder Woman, just like there isn’t one in real life between Amy and Gal.
“It's exciting to get to bring in all these other characters and I was really excited that Gal (Gadot) was involved, because it was a nice to have another girl on set, even if we don't work together a lot, it was nice to have her there,” Amy adds.
Not as excited were the fans of the Amazonian, because Gal doesn’t seem to fit the physical requirements for the part: she is a model whose slender frame inspires anything but a sense of strength. Still, Amy has nothing but nice words about her, so perhaps Snyder’s take on Wonder Woman will compensate for what she lacks in physical presence with good acting – and hopefully a solid script as well.
“Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice” also stars Ben Affleck as Batman and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, yet 2 more controversial casting choices. We will get the finished film in May 2016, so we’re a very long way from a trailer release.
