The handset has been confirmed to include LTE capabilities

Nokia’s Lumia 810 smartphone, the specific version of Lumia 820 that arrived on shelves at T-Mobile several months ago, won’t be able to connect to the carrier’s new LTE network, it seems.

The handset does pack LTE capabilities inside, but they cannot be enabled, WPCentral reports, and there will be no faster data connectivity for its owners.

The info reportedly comes from Randy Meyerson, senior director, Product Marketing at T-Mobile, who made it clear than Magenta doesn’t plan on doing with this phone what it did with Galaxy Note II a few weeks back, enabling its dormant LTE connectivity.

“I’m following up as per my note last night. Unfortunately, the Nokia Lumia 810 is not upgradable to LTE. While it is true that it has a chipset that is LTE-capable in certain circumstances, the variant that was used in this device can’t be enabled for LTE,” Meyerson reportedly said.
