Says Sony man

Sony has recently announced that it plans to remake both God of War I and II and release them on a Blu-ray drive in time for the Christmas shopping season. The game will be taking advantage of the graphical power of the PlayStation 3 for things like anti-aliasing and constant 60 fps gameplay, and Sony is also making a few other improvements to the titles so that gamers who played them on the PS2 do not feel bad about paying them again.

But one thing that Sony is unlikely to do, despite fans being very interested in it, is adding a God of War III demo on the same disc for the remakes.

John Hight, who is the director of product development at Sony Santa Monica Studio, told IGN that “First and foremost, we want to be able to have this available for this holiday, and we don't have a demo available yet that we feel is release-ready. I know a lot of people played the E3 demo and dug it and everything but, as far as our standards, it's not ready to go into everybody's home. So we wouldn't want to hinder our efforts to get God of War 1 and 2 out”.

So, even though journalists, who can greatly influence the fortunes of a videogame, were able to get their hands on a playable version of God of War III as early as the E3 trade show more mortal players will not be getting this option as later as November when the remakes of God of War I and II arrive.

Sony might be talking about how the quality is not there but the company is probably more interested in keeping player attention up and releasing a demo for the new game closer to the official release date of March 22.
