Video game publisher Namco Bandai has said that the comments that Hidetaka Miyazaki, the game director of Dark Souls, has made related to an Easy difficulty level for the action game were misinterpreted by the press and the fans.

Namco Bandai has offered a new translation that reads, “This fact is really sad to me and I am thinking about how to make everyone complete the game while maintaining the current difficulty and carefully send all gamers the messages behind it.”

The original statement read, “I am thinking about whether I should prepare another difficulty that everyone can complete or carefully send all gamers the messages behind our difficult games.”

Dark Souls, the game that was created by From Software, is best known for its difficulty level, which has made it a favorite of hardcore gamers.

The game is available on the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PC.
