Driveclub for the PS4 will not be getting a beta stage ahead of its release, according to Sony, which has come forward to deny any rumors about a possible test phase on the PS4 platform.

Driveclub is set to debut this October for Sony's new PS4, almost a year since it was originally scheduled to release.

In order to achieve its ambitious connected racing experience, developer Evolution Studios emphasized that it needed more time to ensure that all the systems work as intended.

Yesterday, reports of a Driveclub beta stage surfaced, via VG247, claiming that Sony will announce a free test phase for the racing game on PS4 in order to ensure that its online servers and infrastructure handle the load of users.

Now, Sony has denied such plans, saying that it will not organize a Driveclub beta ahead of the game's release in October.

Considering many online games or titles that rely heavily on online features encountered problems at launch, the fact that a public beta won't be held for Driveclub is worrying, especially since all PS Plus subscribers will get a free copy of its PS Plus edition, which has access to all the multiplayer features.

Expect to hear more about Driveclub at E3 2014 next month.
