The Cave will be identical on the new Wii U home console from Nintendo when compared to the versions that will arrive on the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the PC, apart from a new set of mechanics for character selection.

Chris Remo, one of the developers working on the project, tells Joystiq that, “We did work really hard to ensure that visually everything you’re seeing is identical to the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, so there’s no downscaling, there’s nothing going on that is not up to par with the other next-gen systems.”

Ron Gilbert, the main developer working on The Cave, has previously said that the game has been created with the PC in mind.

This is the first game that Double Fine will offer on the Wii U, using the improved eShop.
