We’re expecting to see the new Chrome Dev 17 any day now; but in the meantime, this edition of the Google browser needs to go through some bug fixing sessions in order to be worthy of the beta channel.

The latest release of the Dev edition is 16.0.912.15 and it is available for Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome Frame. The changes consist mainly in increasing the stability of the product and no new significant features have been introduced.

Some of the modifications relate to the avatar set, which has been tweaked; its menu can be browsed by keyboard and also has a shortcut assigned.

Others fix problems such as a browser crash when a new profile would be created. On the same note, archives flag has been eliminated since it is obsolete (there is ZIP support on cros-disks side).
