Niveus unveiled yesterday its new 2007 line of home theater PCs (media centers). This comes after the Denali Edition, the first Niveus Media's 2007 Summit edition. The Denali media centers feature Niveus' Glacier Passive Cooling technology and the Niveus Convergence Panel (in patent-pending).

The Rainier Edition includes 4 media centers: 320, 500, 500 HD and 750HD. Niveus claims this edition backs up the Denali versions with faster frame rates, higher quality television, faster music encoding, rich graphics, quicker response time (and maybe smaller prices). Its 2007 editions are among the first Windows Media Center systems to incorporate Intel's Viiv technology, Core 2Duo processors, HD DVD and HDMI output in a single all in an audio/video component factor.

Rainier 500 HD and 750HD offer 1080p playback via the HD DVD platform. The media center comes with Niveus Cable Receive, an external digital cable receiver box that supports hundreds of high definition digital channels. It consists of two internal Cable Receivers that you can connect to the Windows Vista Ultimate-based Media center PC via a USB 2.0 cable. This allows you to view and record premium high definition digital big cat documentaries without using a set-top box. The new versions also include integrated IR receiver/ Blaster, Serial (Rs-232), Wireless 802.11 b/g and an integrated flash card reader (SD, Mmc).

Measuring over 4-inches tall, the 2007 Rainier versions are half the size of the Denali. The Rainier sports an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, up to three television tuners, 750 GB storage disc, 2 GB of memory, Nvidia's GeForce Series 7 graphic and 8-channel audio. All the versions will be shipped in 2-3 weeks time at prices oscillating between 3,199 $ (Rainier 320) and 5,999$ (Rainier 750 HD).
