The electric Nissan LEAF – with LEAF standing for Leading, Environmentally-friendly, Affordable, Family car – is about to attempt breaking the world record for driving in reverse.

As specialists explain, electric motors allow you to go as fast as you wish in both possible directions, so it shouldn't be at all difficult for said vehicle to stand up to the challenge.

However, this is just theoretical talk. In practice, as the car's driver – Terry Grant – explains, the fact that the road will be full of twists, turns and obstacles might make things a bit difficult.

The electric Nissan LEAF is expected to prove its green-worthiness on a 1.16-mile hillclimb at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

For the time being, you can watch the short movie made in preparation for this event.
