The Israeli hacker known as Yourikan has taken credit for breaching the official website of the Niroo Research Institute (www.nri.ac.ir) – an Iranian organization affiliated to the Ministry of Energy which focuses its efforts on the development of new technologies for the industry.

The website’s main page has been defaced and a total of 673 record sets, comprised of user IDs, email addresses, plain text passwords and telephone numbers have been published in a Pastebin document.

At press time, the site of the institute is offline, but CWN caught a glimpse of the defacement page which indicates the reason behind the attack.

“This site is hacked by You-R!-K@N. Say no to terror. Say no to nuclear Iran,” reads the message posted on the defaced page.

This is not the first time Yourikan attacks Iranian websites. A few weeks ago, he defaced a number of 91 domains, including some that belong to government organizations.
