Video games have been blamed for a lot of things, but a new incident coming from the UK is really taking things to new extremes, as a grandmother blames Nintendo's Nintendogs title for causing her own dog to attack her granddaughter.

Violent video games have been accused of making kids violent, but this is the first time a casual title like Nintendogs is blamed for making an animal violent.

It seems that when nine year old Megan Walker went to he grandmother's to play some Nintendogs on her Nintendo DS portable device, a bark from the game made her relative's bull mastiff, Sacacen, go berserk and dragged the young girl from her couch.

“When I woke up I turned on the Nintendo. It barked and Saracen dragged me off the couch by my foot. I was scared” said Megan.

The dog began biting the nine year old girl, eventually ripping off her top lip, but the doctors were able to reattach it at the hospital.

While this ordeal was going on, Megan's grandmother began to blame the video game for this unfortunate event.

According to her, if she wouldn't have been playing it in the house, nothing would've happened.

"I think this game should carry some kind of warning," said the grandmother. "People should be told not to play it when there are dogs in the room. I blame the game for what happened to Megan. If they hadn’t been playing it I don’t think the dog would have gone for her."

The dog was deemed dangerous and was put to down by a vet, while Megan is now making a full recovery at the hospital.

As for the rest of Nintendogs players out there, you might want to put down your virtual animals when you're in the company of real ones, just to be on the safe side.
