After Microsoft and Sony presented the specifications for Xbox 360 and PS3, Nintendo thought it would be good idea to do the same for its Nintendo Revolution.
The future generation of Nintendo consoles is set to get closer to Microsoft and Sony, which at the moment are in the lead. And to obtain this performance, Nintendo has chosen a solution which not only offers new experiences for the Revolution, but also guarantees compatibility with all the titles for the previous models, a feature that has not been confirmed for the Xbox 2 and PS 3 consoles.
Among the features offered by Nintendo's latest creation we mention: WiFi connectivity, 512 MB of flash memory, wireless controllers, and 2 USB ports. The engine of the Revolution onsole is IBM's processor called „Bradway", which is backed by a graphical solution provided by ATI, code named „Hollywood". This combination will offer gamers an unprecedented gaming experience from graphical and processing point of view.
The console will know two disc formats, the self-loading bay replacing the tray system being compatible both with 12 cm optical discs designed for Revolution and the discs for GameCube. The system will include a SD memory card and it will be compatible with all the titles from the last 20 years designed for: Nintendo 64, Super Nintendo Entertainment System and even Nintendo Entertainment System.
