Amidst lots of rumors and speculation about the hardware of the upcoming Nintendo Wii U, the Japanese company itself has released a statement, saying that it considers the actual gaming experience more important than the hardware configuration of the console.

Lots of people are eagerly awaiting the Nintendo Wii U later this year but, seeing how Nintendo is still keeping details a secret, lots of rumors have popped up about the console’s actual performance.

While some say the Wii U is more powerful than the current PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, others believe it’s practically on par with those devices.

According to a representative who talked with Digital Trends, however, Nintendo isn’t worried about the hardware performance of the Wii U, since it just wants to deliver a console that’s great to play with.

"We do not focus on technology specs,” he said. “We understand that people like to dissect graphics and processing power, but the experience of playing will always be more important than raw numbers."

Do you think Nintendo’s strategy is correct or should it at least try to make the Wii U more powerful than the PS3 or Xbox 360?
