The Wii U is not performing as well as Nintendo expects and that means that the company is willing to try new ideas in order to attract more gamers to the platform.

Dan Adelman, the business development manager at the American division, says that between 20 and 30 indie titles will be launched via the eShop, in an order to attract the same crowd that has made the Xbox 360 Minecraft a success on the Microsoft device.

He tells Joystiq that, “I think we're putting a lot of effort into changing that and making ourselves more accessible, so I really want to make sure that people realize that it's actually pretty easy now - and we're trying to make it easier - to work with us and release games on our systems.”

Nintendo is also willing to offer more support to all the teams that can prove they are able to create a game and want to launch it on the Wii U.

The company wants to sell 9 million devices before the end of the current fiscal year.
