Nintendo has changed the launch window for its upcoming Wii U home console, now estimating that the device will reach consumers sometime between June next year and the end of 2012, at least according to a brand new report.
The Nintendo Wii U is set to finally put the Japanese company on par with its rivals, Sony and Microsoft, and, after being presented at E3 2011, certainly got a lot of people interested in it.
Now, after many expected a release date in the first half of 2012, Nintendo has seemingly confirmed that the console’s launch has been pushed back a little bit, offering a release window, via Inside Games, between June, 2012, and the end of the year.
Nintendo already confirmed that the final version of the Wii U is going to be showcased at E3 2012, so this announcement isn’t that surprising.
Hopefully, however, the Wii U is going to be supported by great games at its launch, so that it won’t repeat the mistakes the 3DS made this year.
