Nintendo has just confirmed that it will be releasing a brand new console bundle on May 15, which costs just $149.99, and includes not only a Wii console, a remote and a nunchuck controller, but also a copy of Mario Kart and a steering wheel accessory.

Nintendo has been rumored to implement a price cut for its Wii home console for quite some time now, in order to get sales figures back up after a period of sharp decline, which allowed rivals like the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 to gain the upper hand.

After the unofficial price drop of $30 last month, when North American retailers slashed the price on the Black Wii bundle from $199 to $169, Nintendo has now officially made its own cut, dropping the price down to $149.99.

The price cut will start on May 15, when the company debuts a brand new bundle package that includes a Wii and its accessories, as well as a copy of Mario Kart and a steering wheel peripheral, in both white and black versions.

This will be the only bundle available, as Nintendo is going to eliminate the current one that adds in Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort alongside the actual console.

These games will now be sold separately, with Wii Sports being part of a new Nintendo Selects line of budget games that will cost $19.99 each. Alongside the aforementioned game, other titles like The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Animal Crossing: City Folk or Mario Super Sluggers are also included in the lineup.

The price cut will be in effect in the UK as well, as Nintendo also announced that the new Wii bundle is going to be priced at just £129.

In addition, the country will get its customized lineup of Nintendo Selects games, including WarioWare: Smooth Moves, Mario Strikers Charged Football, Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City, as well as Wii Sports, which are now priced at £19.
