With the holidays approaching, the Nintendo console is almost impossible to purchase

History repeating itself? Next Christmas will be the second one the Wii consoles celebrate and things look exactly the same as they did last year: Nintendo is quick silver! It is being sold so quickly that they are quite hard to find in game shops worldwide.

For example, Amazon.com sold their restocked 1.400 consoles in just ten minutes. Yes, that is right! They sold exactly 140 pieces per minute. Two per second! Incredible!

But the numbers aren't that surprising, since people are lining up in force to get the console. And while most of the game shops have no more Wii consoles in stock, you might still find some more expensive ones, for about 500$, packed with five games that you probably don't want. It's just a matter of how much you actually wish to have one.

The stocks all over the world are shrinking, even though Nintendo is producing almost 2 million units per month. But that's not enough to satisfy all the demand there is. For example, families are becoming desperate to buy a Nintendo Wii as a present for their children for this Christmas, but luck and, especially, more money seem to be the main requirement in order to get one, since this situation has been speculated well on the Internet auction sites, the console being sold at prices starting at 400$. And I really mean being sold!

One of the reasons Nintendo Wii sells so good might be that this console has a family friendly design, being easy to use even by people that have never played a video game before. Unlike their rivals, PlayStation or Xbox which focus more on dedicated gamers. Nintendo's console has, instead of the traditional control pad, a motion-sensitive remote that can be waved in order to play, for example, tennis (and the list may be continued).
