Is a "PZP" on its way, too?

We've seen this happening many times before... A huge brand is used thanks to the resemblance of another product's name to it, generating massive sales. It's easy! Change a letter and you've got "Suny", "Micrasoft" or "Nintando", but these are only suppositions, as we've got no certainty and no lawsuit to clear the mystery, yet.

Strong brands are usually protected by a copyright, but a gadget that sounds just like the famous Wii and offers what the console lacks - DVD playback is sure to be a hit. If the remote control of this gadget is called "Weemote" I think we can call this a rip-off, but I don't think the producers took this so far. It reminds us of one of the Nintendo Wii's major flaws: the lack of support for DVD playback, present in most of the next-gen consoles. Even the PS2 has this feature and we're puzzled to see it missing from the best-selling console of the moment.

Of course, the good old hackers managed to squeeze the DVD playback ability into the Wii, but we're still waiting for a legal way of turning our Nintendo console into a quality video player. The big screen TV is practically begging the console's producers to release a software update or some accessory that would make all the movie fans happy. Will such a decision increase the gadget's sales? Of course it will and maybe we'll see a video download Wii Channel surfacing just in time to take advantage of the new feature of the console.

In the meantime we can't help smiling and checking out the pictures of the Wee DVD player, trying to see if they're fake or not. Turns out that the device is real and it's made in China, obviously by a company that doesn't care that their DVD player is named after the synonym of urine.
