Satoru Iwata, the leader of Nintendo, says that the new Street Pass titles that were released on the 3DS handheld via the Mii Plaza have managed to become sales successes in just one week after they were launched.

In a session with investors, the executive stated, “We only started distributing those new games a week ago, but already more than 200,000 consumers had purchased at least one out of those four games by last Sunday.”

He says that Nintendo did not advertise the new Street Pass titles in any way but they still managed to sell well, which means that more similar experiences might be launched in the near future.

The 3DS is now a popular gaming handheld but it struggled soon after launch.

Satoru Iwata has also promised that new, special experiences for the Wii U home console will soon be revealed.
