Nintendo's President, Satoru Iwata, seems very confident that taking the entire world by storm with the latest gaming console developed by its company will be a great marketing move, and hopes that the simultaneous launch throughout the world will be even more successful.

Along with this statement, Mr. Iwata hinted on the probable date of launch for the Revolution, which "is coming out during 2006, but it will be after the current fiscal year", which means sometime after April.

So far, no other gaming console producer has managed to pull up a stunt like simultaneous world launch. The PSP can be the exact opposite of achieving that; between the Japanese launch and the European one there was a gap of almost one year. Microsoft also attempted the world launch business with its upcoming Xbox 360, but soon realized that it wasn't realistic and announced opting to stagger the launches by a few weeks.

Iwata also said that he expects the Revolution to be better in sales than the current generation of console gaming systems. The GameCube to date has sold just under 20 million units worldwide, according to recent estimates.
