Players still have the option to deliver their consoles to Nintendo

Video game hardware maker and publisher Nintendo has launched a whole new Wii Channel in order to fix the problems that a number of gamers have been reporting with The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

It’s not clear why Nintendo has not simply released a patch, like other developers do routinely on the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360 and the PC, but gamers are reporting that installing and launching the Wii Channel allows them to restore their bugged save games and simply pick up the action from where they left off.

Those who lack Internet access also have the option of sending their saved game data to Nintendo of Japan directly in order to have their saved games fixed, either by putting them on an memory card or by mailing the entire console.

It’s not clear when the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Wii Channel will be available for gamers in the West, who are also affected by the story bug in the game.
