Although Nintendo's made its numbers for the year (and then some), they're announcing new forecasts

A recent Reuters report says that the company making the Wii and DS has just raised sales expectations and profit forecasts for the 06/07 fiscal year. Although the Wii is doing good too, it's holding a steady position but slightly declining due to lack of new titles, yet the DS is performing superbly. It seems that the whole world has been engulfed in a Nintendo DS frenzy. The company originally set the bar at 900 yen, for the end of Nintendo's business year on March 31, 2007. But the DS did so great that Nintendo has an extra 66 billion yen added to that previously announced figure. That's 966 yen (for those with ADD condition). Which makes it 8.1 billion in US Dollars.

Now, Nintendo reports these figures, which I'm sure they're very proud of, but doesn't say exactly how high they've set the bar this time. The only thing we know is that the company announces their annual earnings on April 26. Still surprised why Nintendo hasn't packed up and moved on? And while Nintendo says: "OK you want more, we'll give you more" releasing a new figure for DS sales soon, its rival, Sony, which is somewhere in Nintendo's trail of dust, is still to announce their upcoming lighter PSP, while dropping the price for the currently available one. It now retails for $169.

And just so you know, a little handheld gaming machine called DS Lite put PSP fans to the test of infidelity, with an EB ad saying "Trade Up and Save on Any New Nintendo DS Lite." EB was encouraging handheld fans to trade in their old PSPs to get a better price on new DS Lites. Although I'm a PlayStation fan, this says it all, I have to admit.
