Nintendo has launched an official Frequently Asked Questions document for its upcoming Pokemon Bank, which explains why the new application asks for a yearly payment and ] how secure creatures stored will be.

The new service is designed to allow gamers to use up to 100 boxes to store all their creatures and to transfer them to future titles in the Pokemon franchise without worrying about compatibility between devices and generations of software.

Nintendo says that the yearly subscription is designed to make sure that the Pokemon Bank can be maintained in the long term and that there are always sufficient resources to monitor all the creatures and make sure that they are secure.

The company states, “Regarding the potential of losing your Pokémon due to natural disaster, unexpected incidents, cyber attacks, or other circumstances, however, we ask that you please read the warnings and stipulations for using Pokémon Bank that we will announce in mid-December, and decide for yourself whether you wish to use the service.”

The FAQ also explains that the team working on Pokemon Bank will make sure that all the creatures that are uploaded are not tampered with, but the security measures have not been released in order to make sure that they are not breached before the service is officially launched.

The Pokemon Transporter app, on the other hand, will be free for all fans and will give them a chance to take their favorite creatures from Pokemon Black, White, Black 2 and White 2 and then move them to X & Y.

Those who want to use it need to insert a cartridge from the DS or 3DS versions of the games and then add their Pokemon to the Bank.

Nintendo says that players should think about all the transfers they perform because they are final and cannot be undone.
