It seems that Nintendo is getting ready to finally make a big mobile push this year but the company is not yet ready to launch full Mario or Zelda adventures on devices it does not control and plans to focus on an official app and mini-games for the time being.

AllGamesBeta quotes a Japanese newspaper as saying that during a coming investor meeting the company will reveal plans to use mobile phones and tablets as basically advertising platforms for titles that are offered on the 3DS handheld and the Wii U home console.

The official Nintendo app will deliver news, trailers and promotions to users and it seems that the mini-games are designed to give users a small taste of the kind of gaming experiences that the company can offer.

All the content delivered will be free and there are currently no plans to offer any kind of premium service to mobile owners.
