Video game publisher Nintendo has announced that it has selected the independent website Nintendo Life to offer recommendations for the downloadable content that is offered on the 3DS handheld eShop.

All the recommended games have been vetted by the contributors to the website and are offered in Europe, North America and in Australia.

Darren Calver, who is the director of operations working at Nintendo Life, stated, “We've worked hard over the past few years to provide expert coverage of all of Nintendo's downloadable games. It's been both a pleasure and an honour to work closely with Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Europe in order to provide this selection of our favorite eShop games, and we hope they will enable 3DS owners to get even more enjoyment out of their console.”

Corbie Dillard, who is the downloads editor, added, “You might assume that it would be quite easy for a group of people who spend so much of their time reviewing games to choose a list of favourites, however it proved to be a real challenge putting together a final list we all agreed on, especially considering the wide variety of titles available across the various services.”

He mentioned that the favorites for the team working at the magazine include Shantae: Risky's Revenge, Plants vs. Zombies, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX and Dark Void Zero.

Nintendo Life was created in 2006 and has since become one of the most important sources of information for both retail and digital download titles for the various Nintendo platforms.

The 3DS eShop was initially set to be launched at the same time as the handheld in order to allow users access to a number of titles that would not be offered through other channels.

But the online store was been delayed by Nintendo and some have blamed that for the falling sales of the Nintendo 3DS.
