The launch of the Wii U home console on the North American market and the upcoming releases in Europe and in Japan are keeping Nintendo busy and it seems that the company no longer has the time or the resources required to continue creating titles for the original Wii.

Bill Trinen, the director of product marketing at Nintendo of America, tells Gamespot when being asked about new games for the first motion tracking platform that, “No… not right now.”

It’s also interesting to note that none of the video games that Nintendo is planning to launch for the new Wii U is multiplatform, although that might change in the future.

The company has also extended the launch window for its new device until March 2013, which probably means that until then all its resources are locked into place to push the new platform and make it a best seller.
