Jason Rubin, the former president of bankrupt publisher THQ and veteran of developer Naughty Dog, has weighed in on Nintendo's role in the gaming industry, saying that the Japanese company is irrelevant as a console maker but quite good at developing games.

Jason Rubin helped shape Naughty Dog into the developer it is today and went on to try and save THQ a few years ago, when it entered financial turmoil.

Now, the former executive has talked on the GameTrailers Bonus Round about Nintendo and stated that, as a hardware manufacturer, the company is irrelevant.

In terms of games, however, Rubin believes that Nintendo is a "worldwide treasure" and that it is a crime that PS3 or Xbox 360 owners can't enjoy the titles made by the company on their devices.
