Nintendo has a habit of making big announcements alongside other, smaller ones, through its own Direct video conferences.
Through these special events, the company's executives and developers can freely share all sorts of details about their new projects.
Now, ahead of the winter holidays, Nintendo has made the final Direct of 2013 and presented many new things, from fresh footage with Mario Kart 8 or Super Smash Bros., to all-new games, like Dr. Luigi.
