Seems that at the Leipzig Games Convention there's a pretty neat surprise for the teenage girls anxious to get their first date. We all know that in a teen's life this is a pretty important moment, as is the first kiss or the ... first time you play on the Nintendo Wii. Daedalic Entertainment are about to reveal Dating Day, their latest
DS title, that
teaches young girls how to behave on their first date.
The game is designed for a public that includes girls with ages ranging from 8 to 14 years and they will be thought the basics of dating through a series of
minigames. Each player will get to design her own avatar, that will feature the coolest outfits following the latest trends. The only problem with Dating Day is that you'll have to wait till the fourth quarter of 2008 to get to play it, so you'd better postpone your first date girls.
Will there be a second title, or a version designed specifically for the boys? We're as clueless when it comes to dating as the girls are, or even more, at that troubled age. I can imagine a 14-year-old teen girl on her first date, getting ready to say something and checking out her DS first, in order to see if she's doing it right. What's next? A relationship tutorial, a fist kiss simulator, a collection of "marriage minigames" or a breakup DS title?
Gaming has infiltrated most of the aspects of the real life, in such a way that this title seems a normal initiative turned into an original title. If you ask me, I think that Dating Day spoils a bit of the surprise that the first date has to offer to teenage girls. Also, the young ladies have an unfair advantage, compared to the teen boys stuck with playing WoW or BioShock.
