Nintendo says that it is sorry that it has not been able to launch the TVii service for the Wii U home console to the European market so far, but pledges to double its efforts this year.

Those who use it in North America have the option of watching their favorite television shows, while doodling and writing comments that they can share with their group of friends.

NintendoWorld quotes the company as saying that, “We would like to apologize that we were unable to bring the Nintendo TVii service to Europe in 2013 as originally planned. Please continue to keep an eye out for further announcements regarding this service in the near future.”

Launch of the TVii feature for the Wii U on the European market might give a small boost to the device in terms of sales, but Nintendo needs to do more in order to increase its overall attractiveness.
