Nintendo had a busy couple of days, talking to investors about its recent performance and about its plans for the future, and the company has announced that this year it plans to launch a Wii home console based Rhythm Heaven title and a new title featuring the popular Kirby character.

Rhythm Heaven has so far performed well on the Nintendo DS handheld and the move that the Wii will capitalize on the popularity and will deliver experiences that appeal to a bigger number of players.

About the new Kirby video game, which follows a good reception for last year's Epic Yarn, Satoru Iwata, who is the president of Nintendo, stated, “It's been a while since we launched the previous home console version of the Kirby game where Kirby can inhale enemies, spit them out and morph, but a team at Hal Laboratory, Inc. is developing a new Wii game from the Kirby's Dreamland franchise now.”

The game does not yet have an official title of launch date, but it will only be offered on the Wii home console.

Iwata also offered an update on how development of the main new Zelda game, Skyward Sword, is going, telling investors that the team working on the game under the supervision of Miyamoto is “now entering into the final completion stage of the game.”

The company president has also confirmed that the Zelda game that is prepared for the three-dimensional capable Nintendo 3DS will be launched ahead of Skyward Sword.

In April, Nintendo also plans to launch a new Pokemon video game for the DS, at the moment only on the Japanese market.

The game will be called Battle & Get! and the package will include a full Bluetooth keyboard that Nintendo says can also be used with a number of other devices under certain conditions.

The company also confirmed 2011 launches for Xenoblade and for The Last Story for Western markets, with the game already out in Japan.
