Via the most recent Nintendo Direct session, the video game development division at Nintendo reveals that it is working on a Wii U-based video game called JoySound Wii Karaoke U, which is only linked to the Japanese market at the moment.

Gamers who buy the game will get a special Wii U-enabled microphone for karaoke and will also get access to a trial disk.

They can also choose the lower quality microphone that’s embedded in the Wii U controller.

On launch, more than 90,000 songs, all of them selected specifically for their karaoke potential, will be included and more might be added afterwards.

At the moment, it is unclear whether Nintendo has any plans to launch JoySound Wii Karaoke U in North America or in Europe.

The launch window has not been specified either.
