Nintendo has a lot of new additions to this week's download list, so we're going to jump right to them and start off with the WiiWare. First off, we have Excitebike: World Rally, another installment in the Excitebike franchise, which will allow players to soar across a bumpy dirt-road on their mountain bikes. The game features a controllable camera that offers several camera angles to pride themselves on the perfect landing they'll make with the help of the motion controller. And if not, it offers a very cinematic look at a total wipe-out. The game makes use of the Wi-Fi connection to link players to online matches with their friends or, if they don't have any, one can always opt for a race against random foes. Nintendo has also added a track editor for its 1,000-
Wii-Point World Rally, so, if one feels the need, one can make their own tracks to show off on.
Konami Digital Entertainment brings Frogger Returns to the Wii, as the classic arcade challenge is resurrected into the 3D environment and graphics that match. The game will add to the original tittle new levels, power-ups and a new perspective. For their 500 Wii Points, players will also get a chance to race their Frogger against a human opponent. The last title to be added to the Wii is Dragon Master Spell Caste, published by Stickmen Studios. The gamers will have the opportunity to ride their dragon in either the story mode, which will feature four distinct paths for them to follow, or in a split-screen multiplayer. It is priced at 500 Wii Points.
On the
DSi Ware, Hudson Entertainment kicks off the downloads with a resurrection of the classic Bomberman. Bomberman Blitz offers the multiplayer mode for up to eight players, be it over a local game or online multiplayer. The rest of the DSiWare titles belong to Electroplankton, as the interactive music game brings five new environments for fans to enjoy. The new Trapy, Hanenbow, Rec-Rec, Nanocarp and Beatnes plankton will each offer gamers a new opportunity to create their special tunes, but, unfortunately, they still won't be able to record any of their creations, unless they fiddle with some third-party hardware. Each of the five new Electroplankton are priced at 200 Wii Points.
Last but not least, the
Virtual Console gets two new games. The first is Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap, Sega's 500-Wii-Point title. As the direct sequel to Wonder Boy in Monster Land, the game will allow players to roam freely for the first time in animal forms, while still allowing the purchase of weapons and items. The second game is Cybernoid from Commodore Gaming and it's priced at 500 Wii Points. Pirates have raided and stolen a storage depot and gotten away with all sorts of valuables, but, most importantly, they looted some battle weaponry as well. One has to navigate the planetary defenses and retrieve as much as the cargo as they can, but they also must take note that, if the time runs out or if they don't retrieve a sufficient amount of the stolen cargo, they'll lose one of their Cybernoid craft.
