The Nintendo 3DS has continued its reign at the top of the Japanese hardware chart while the video game top ten has been dominated by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the first person shooter that has also taken the West by storm.

According to the data provided by the Japanese tracking firm Media Create the Nintendo 3DS has managed to sell 96,219 devices during the week which ended on November 20, which is slightly down when compared to the 103,962 that were moved to gamers during the previous seven day period.

The PlayStation Portable from Sony has again occupied second place in the hardware chart but sales have managed to reach 41,069 units, coming from just 23,472.

The PlayStation 3 saw a similar increase in sales, with a weekly total of 40,085 consoles sold for the seven day period after managing just 22,919 previously, while the Nintendo Wii has also had a good week, with overall sales of 13,613, a good increase when compared to 11,782 before.

The DSi LL handheld is still continuing to sell in Japan, better than the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, the PlayStation 2 from Sony or the older DS models.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has managed to sell 180,732 copies during its first week on sale in Japan, where Square Enix, making it the best selling game of the week, publishes it.

The rest of the top ten is made up of: Super Mario 3D Land, Saints Row The Third, Final Fantasy Type-0, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 for the PS3, Hatsune Miku Project Diva Extend, Sengoku Basara 3 Utage and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3.
