Nintendo has just revealed a few of the health and safety warnings that will be associated with its new portable platform, the Nintendo 3DS.

Nintendo is getting everything in place for the upcoming launch of its brand new handheld and has already detailed what games are confirmed for the platform and what will be playable at the upcoming Nintendo World Conference.

Besides this, the Japanese company also revealed a few of the warnings that will be associated with the platform.

Usually, Nintendo recommends users to take a break after an hour of playing the regular Nintendo DS, but with the new, 3D-enabled platform, the interval is shortened to just half an hour.

This, as you can imagine, is due to the 3D technology that can tire the eyes of the players much faster than regular displays.

However, if players are experiencing bad side effects, playing should be interrupted immediately.

"If your physical condition worsens or you become ill, please stop playing at once," states Nintendo.

Nintendo also emphasizes the role of the special slider of the 3DS, which allows players to adjust the level of 3D depth offered by the display.

This should help those that are experiencing only a few, mild side effects.

For those that just can't get along with the 3D technology, it can be turned off completely.

This is advised by Nintendo in case children under six years old are playing with the device.

The company says that the eyes of young people are still in developmental stages, meaning they should stay away from 3D gaming, as well as movies or television that use the technology.

"Since the Nintendo 3DS can be changed to 2D to avoid any effects on [the vision of] young children, it is possible for anyone to enjoy playing it."

Nintendo will also include 3D parental controls, so children won't be able to turn on the feature without the permission of their parents.

The Nintendo 3DS is set to be launched this February in Japan, and in March for the rest of the world.
