Nintendo has released a stealth firmware update for the 3DS handheld, which is supposed to bring the hardware up to version 4.5.0-10U.

The company is not offering too many details about the changes it is introducing, saying that the overall stability of the handheld and the software that runs on it have been improved and that the user experience has been enhanced via a number of undetailed other small changes.

The firmware update 4.5.0-10U will be automatically downloaded and applied once the 3DS is running and connected to the Internet.

Nintendo is usually unwilling to talk about the actual changes made via firmware upgrades, but the new firmware might be a sign that the company is getting ready to introduce new services or more downloadable content in the coming weeks.
