Gamers will also see new options to back up game saves

The team at Nintendo is launching a new firmware update for the 3DS handheld, labeled 6.0.011, which is designed to increase the overall stability of the gaming platform while also introducing a number of new titles that use StreetPass.

The list of new experiences offered includes:

StreetPass Squad – find a Mii in space and fight the Gold Bone Gang StreetPass Garden – buy a house, grow flowers, decorate the area StreetPass Battle – a strategy experience that allows players to create armies and conquer the world StreetPass Mansion – a mystery taking place in a haunted house

The new firmware update also blocks flashcarts.

Gamers who use the 3DS are now also able to back up saves for digital titles and the Virtual Console using the main menu, although not all titles are supported at the moment.
