Besides confirming quite a lot of games for its 3DS console, Nintendo also detailed some big hardware and software changes that will be arriving for the portable device before the end of the year, including the recently revealed circlepad cradle, a new color option called Misty Pink and the addition of 3D video recording.

Nintendo wants to make sure its 3DS will be a success, especially after the recent price cut, so it's been confirming lots of new games for it, as well as some new features that make the handheld even more attractive to those who've yet to buy it.

After confirming 28 new games that are coming soon for the 3DS, Nintendo also presented plenty of hardware and software improvements that will arrive this year for the device.

Chief among them is the new circlepad add-on for the Nintendo 3DS, which was leaked by Japanese magazine Famitsu last week. As we saw, it's actually a new sort of cradle for the device, which adds the functionality of a new circlepad (analog nub) as well as a new trigger button on the right.

The '3DS Expansion Slide Pad' is set to be released on December 10,according to Joystiq, and costs just $19 in Japan. Among the games that will support it are Monster Hunter 3G, which we already knew about, as well as plenty of other titles, like: Capcom's Resident Evil: Revelations, Konami's Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, Namco Bandai's Ace Combat 3D Cross Rumble, Tecmo Koei's Dynasty Warriors VS and Square Enix's still undated Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance].

Next up, Nintendo seemingly wants to address the 3DS' lack of popularity with the ladies, and confirmed that a new color, called Misty Pink, will be released in Japan on October 20.

Last but not least, new software features are going to be unlocked for the 3DS soon, as Kotaku informs us that a special firmware update will be deployed in November that allows the device to record 3D video, not just snap 3D pictures, like it's doing at the moment.

With all the previously announced games, as well as these new hardware and software changes, the 3DS is slowly becoming a desirable portable games console.
