Lots of titles are floating around Xbox Live Arcade, mostly old arcade classics, but every now and then, Xboxers get some new stuff too. This week, it's Band of Bugs, and although it revolves around a bunch of little insects, they're not the kind that you squash with your shoe. They're armed to the teeth, and awaiting your command.

This is the third XBLA title from NinjaBee, featuring quality gameplay in a unique setting. Band of Bugs is different in many ways though, as it is a strategic diversion for fans of tactical game play, with catchy animations and environments. It is also one of the few turn-based tactical strategy games available on XBLA, as you can imagine. Players will have unlimited variety in their choices with the first free built-in level editor available on XBLA, which they can use to create custom maps and play with friends over XBL.

Basically, these are the game's most important features:

- Choose to play through a story-based campaign, stand-alone missions or skirmishes;

- Four unique multiplayer modes for up to 4 players either locally or over XBL, including:

Elimination: The first team to lose all the bugs in one party loses the battle Capture: Capture (or defend) a strong point Escape: Reach an escape point, or stop the enemy from reaching it Mission: A unique scenario with custom story, events, and goals

- Challenge friends to Spider Hunter, a more relaxed game that allows up to 8 people to join and leave on the fly! - Use the games' built-in level editor to design your own custom scenarios to play against others - Earn up to 200 Gamerscore and 12 Achievements

Band of Bugs will be available for download on XBLA starting Wednesday 20th June, for 800 Microsoft points. The game has been rated 3+. Hit this link for more information.
