Team Ninja, the developer of the upcoming Ninja Gaiden 3 hack and slash adventure title, has confirmed that it's thinking about a version of the game for the PlayStation Vita, but only after it's finished with the PlayStation 3 edition of the game, which has complete support for the PlayStation Move motion controls.

Ninja Gaiden 3 was announced earlier this year and, since then, has seen a lot of details appear from its developer, Team Ninja, now under the supervision of Yosuke Hayashi.

He has now shared a bit of insight on the possibility of seeing Ninja Gaiden 3 on other platforms than the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 (and possibly the new Nintendo Wii U), like the PlayStation Vita, the new handheld platform that arrives next year from Sony.

According to Hayashi, while the studio already has a developer's edition of the Vita, it's busy with the home console versions of Ninja Gaiden 3.

"We've received a PlayStation Vita system and are thinking about it. Having said that, right now we're focused on Ninja Gaiden 3 for PS3, and after that's complete we'll start to look at ideas such as bringing out Ninja Gaiden on PS Vita because of course we'd like to expand the series."

Hayashi also confirmed that, while Ninja Gaiden 3 on the PS3 will have PlayStation Move support, the game still supports the traditional play style with the DualShock 3 controller.

"The game can be played with PlayStation Move as well as the wireless controller. While hardcore Ninja Gaiden fans will have fun with the wireless controller, the casual player will have the opportunity to use PS Move to do the full action movements and have fun in another way."

Ninja Gaiden 3 is expected in the first half of next year, when it is published by Tecmo Koei.
