After some were cancelled last month

As usual, Microsoft will launch next Tuesday a new patch collection, comprised of nine updates, one of them being rated as "critical".

Eight of the patches are designed to fix operating system problems, while one is aimed at solving a flaw in the company's Exchange product.

A new version of the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool will be launched on Tuesday, as well.

In order to prevent hackers from exploiting the flaws (as in Zotob's case), the company hasn't provided any other details on the problems these patches will solve. They only said that some of them will require restarting the system.

Last month, after a similar security update was announced, Microsoft gave up on it due to quality issues. The company didn't say whether the current collection of patches will also include the postponed ones.

Microsoft also issued three patches in June and July and six other in August 2005.
