Nimbuzz, the guys behind the popular all-in-one communication tools, has just announced a major update for the Android version of Nimbuzz.

The new update adds several new features and fixes some bugs that have been reported by users in the past.

One of the greatest additions to the new version is the push notifications feature. With the new feature users will appear online to all their friends even if the application closed.

In case a contact sends a chat, Nimbuzz will push a new notification in the status bar letting the user know that someone is looking for him.

However, the new feature is only available for those who own an Android 2.2 or higher smartphone.

Those who want to take advantage of the new push notifications feature will have to go to Settings / Notifications / Enable.

Nimbuzz 2.0.8 also comes with another interesting feature called “Synchronize with device”.

When activated it will allow users to see all their Nimbuzz friends in their phone’s contact list and they will be able to start a chat or a call with them, right from the phone’s contact list.

The full change log of the latest Nimbuzz for Android is detailed below:

- Android Push (C2DM) - saves battery and allows you to appear online to your friends even if have the app closed; - Message Delivery Notifications - see when friends receive your messages; - Native phonebook integration - see Nimbuzz contacts in your phone’s native contact list and start a chat or a call with them, straight from there.

Nimbuzz 2.0.8 for Android is now available as a free download from Android Market and is compatible with all devices running Android 1.5 or higher.

However, users should be aware of the fact that some new features will not work with older Android versions.
