The 4K video format is becoming more and more popular among consumers, and some of the most important players on the digital camera market are already planning to add this feature to their latest high-end camera models.

In a recent interview for TrustedReviews, Nikon EU Product Manager Zurab Kiknadaze spoke about the possibility of adding 4K video support to the company's upcoming DSLR models.

“We are aware of the need for, and request for, 4K video recording. It is a bit tricky, it’s not something that we are purposefully excluding from our cameras; however we need to approach it carefully. There are high-end cameras that produce this but it just puts such a load on the equipment. For us, because consumers are demanding it we are aware of this and will be looking into it for the future,” said Zurab Kiknadaze.

The Nippon giant is currently developing its latest DSLR flagship model, the D4s, which will probably be the first to include 4K video support.
