The 1 AW1 has a fair few features not found on regular photo shooting devices

As far as product names go, 1 AW1 isn't exactly normal, and it doesn't really roll off the tongue all that easily, but in this case, Nikon doesn't have to worry about all that much. Not when the product in question is the first rugged, waterproof mirrorless interchangeable lens camera in the world.

That's right, this photo capture device, spotted by NikonRumors, with its 14 MP image sensor and 60 fps photo shooting (15 FPS with automatic autofocus) resists both shocks and water, and can use AW versions of its 11-27.5mm f/3.5-5.6 and 10mm f/2.8 lenses as well.

Sure, the water resistance isn't perfect, but it should handle depths of up to 15 meters (49 feet) before the pressure becomes too much. Meanwhile, drops of up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) can be withstood by the camera.

All in all, that's not a bad feature set at all, and the pop-up flash (also waterproof), built-in GPS, altimeter and depth gauge don't hurt either. It's enough to justify the price of $800/£750/€799, one might say (includes the 11-27.5mm lens). The figure will grow to $1,000/£950/€1,019 when bundled with the 10mm f/2.8 as well.
