Not many Nikon patents have been leaked in the last few months, but a newly discovered one might shed some light on a possible new Nikon 1 mirrorless camera model.

Dutch website Digitfotopro has recently uncovered a new Nikon patent that describes a Nikon 1 camera design, which at first glance somewhat resembles the Panasonic's GX1 model.

It doesn't reveal any other information regarding the camera's possible specs, but we expect to hear more as the CP+ Camera & Photo Imaging Show gets closer.

For the moment, rumor has it that the company is planning to announce a new Nikon 1 V3 interchangeable lens camera model at CP+ that will feature 4K video recording capabilities. Could this patent reveal the design of the upcoming Nikon 1 V3?

At the same time, the Nippon manufacturer seems to be working on two new fast prime lenses (AF-S 50mm f/1.2G and AF-S 28mm f/1.4G), but the information comes from an unknown source, so you'd better take it with a grain of salt until further details become available.
