As PMA 2006 approaches, the companies are starting to send dozens of press releases with the latest cameras and accessories. Some devices are touted as being the greatest, but they don't have too many innovations, while others leave you absolutely stunned.

In the category of those that leave you stunned is Nikon's latest lens, the AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED.

This is the first macro lens in the world incorporating two technologies most D-SLR owners dream of, Vibration Reduction and Silent Wave Motor. These two are in harmony with a maximum f/2.8 aperture and a focal distance of 105 mm, all leading to a perfect macro lens. It's wroth mentioning that this Micro-Nikkor achieves magnification rates of 1:1.

Aside from the almost inexistent noise of the focusing system, the new lens also incorporates IF technology, which prevents the rotation of the frontal part, thus, easing the usage of filters.

AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED also uses the Nano Crystal Coat optical technology, which drastically reduces flare, and one ED glass element that minimizes chromatic aberration to provide higher resolution and high-contrast images.

According to the producer, this lens will be available at the end of March and will have a price tag of 599.99 pounds, or 889 Euros.
